This session will provide an overview of the Transition Planning Process for students who receive special education services through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Topics will include: an overview of the transition section of the IEP, transition to adulthood, backwards planning, and the parental role in transition planning. An overview of agencies and community resources that support the transition planning process as well as other considerations as your child becomes an adult, such as voter registration, benefits, guardianship, etc. will be discussed as well.
