The Medina County Board of DD is excited to offer “Crisis Prevention Institute Training” to providers who are interested in learning about ways to create a safer workplace.
Training will take place at the Medina County Achievement Center (4691 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256) or at your facility, based on the number
of staff participating.
In this training, providers will…
- Understand how trauma impacts behavior in order to help in daily crisis moments
- Learn how to employ a person-centered approach that offers inclusive and sensitive strategies
- Learn how, why, and when to apply safety interventions and disengagement techniques to address risk behaviors
Two course offerings are available:
- One-day Verbal Intervention Training
- Two-day full Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training, including safety interventions (hands-on)
*Participants must attend the 2-day course to receive the full CPI certification.
This training is free of charge to agency providers in Medina County.
